Lukas Förster (*1997 in Salzwedel) grew up in the Altmark (Germany) and started his muscial career at the St. Catherine's Church in Salzwedel. He was taught by church music director Matthias Böhlert and started singing in the children's choir, the youth choir and the concert choir. Concert tours with the youth choir took have already taken him to Barcelona, Rom, Budapest, Zagreb, a.o.
From 2015 to 2019, Lukas Förster studied church music at the Hochschule für Kirchenmusik in Halle (Saale) and is currently completing his Master's degree there.
He has been working as a church musician in Taucha since April 2022.
Lukas Förster is a prizewinner of various composition competitions, including the national competition Jugend komponiert, the orchestral composition prize of the Osnabrück Conservatory and the youth composition workshop OPUS One Berlin. In 2018, he was a scholarship holder at the Künstlerhaus Schloss Wiepersdorf.
His works have been performed by various ensembles such as the Landesjugendchor Sachsen-Anhalt, the ensemble MEHRals4 and the chamber choir Corpus. Since 2017 he has been a member of the Landesjugendchor Sachsen-Anhalt, as well as a singer in the UNYON Vocalensemble and the Ensemble Senza Basso.
In the 2016/2017 season he appeared at Oper Halle in the musical Spring awakening as Hänschen.
Lukas Förster received vocal tuition from Irina Rauschenbach (Leipzig), Prof. Brigitte Wohlfarth (Leipzig) and others and is currently being coached by Teresa Maria Winkler (Leipzig).
He is active throughout Germany as a singer, organist and pianist and has performed the alto part in J.S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio, Handel's Messiah and Pergolesi's Stabat Mater.
